i have only a limited appreciation of avocados, and i don’t understand the huge amount of avocado love that most people seem to have.
i do like a bacon, lettuce and guacamole sandwich. and avocado adds something to a tuna sandwich. but avocado in a salad or by itself: no. avocado as the universal condiment: no. deep-fried avocado: hell no. it gets all hard when you fry it! yuck.
i do kind of appreciate it from an aesthetic perspective, though. avocados are a lovely combination of shades of green. the pits are beautiful, easily the prettiest pits in the plant kingdom. and the texture of the flesh is lovely.
